All-Star Cheer Team Tryout Information

Please note that on occasion, we may have a need for a base or flyer on a particular team that may not have the tumbling skills required. Texas Tough has high standards that are clearly demonstrated in the success of our program. We ask that you trust our expertise and the vision we see for our teams. The coaches and owner choice teams, athletes and parents do not get to decide the team the athlete will be on.

We will place athletes based on age, skills, and specific needs for a team. Teams will be announced on Friday, June 10, 2022 by email. The summer schedule will be put together after teams are placed.

Payment Authorization

Financial Obligations Monthly Payment includes team tuition, competition fees, and choreo/music. All team athletes are required to have a card or bank account on file for automatic payments. This needs to be done by June 30th. Tuition will be auto drafted starting on July 1st, 2022, and end on May 31st, 2023.

All requested information on the form is required. We will automatically bill your credit card and your total charges will appear on your monthly credit card statement. You may cancel this automatic billing authorization at any time by contacting us. All tuition and fees will be run on the given dates.

Skill Requirements

Athleticism, listening skills, coordination, strength, flexibility and memory work. Level jumps with correct arm placement, sharp motion technique, knowledge of counts and strong work ethic

  • (Athletes must perform skills with excellent form and perfected execution with no spots.)
    Level One- One-handed cartwheel, round off, forward roll, backward roll, front and back walkovers.
    Level Two– Standing back hand spring, back walkover back handspring, front walk over roundoff series of back hand springs
    Level Three- Jump series of back hand springs, round off back hand spring back tuck, front tucks, ariel/front tuck, alternate pass to back tuck
    Level Four- Standing two back handsprings to back tuck, standing back hand spring back tuck, standing back tuck, running round off back hand spring layout, alternate pass to layout

  • All Flyers will be required to have ALL body positions (Right and Left Leg Heel Stretch, Right and Left Leg Arabesque, Scorpion and Scale). And we will taking an additional Flyer Class.

  • Aug 21 & 28 During these 2 dates, all our teams will be learning the choreography structure for their routine. This is mandatory. Teams will come on both days for 3-4 hrs. Once teams are formed, we will send out the exact times.

  • Teams will attend 5 MANDATORY competitions throughout the season. Once competition producers release dates for their events, we will put together a schedule for the season.

  • We will fit the girls for practice wear on the day of tryouts, Billing for the practice wear will be auto-drafted on 07/01. The amount will be $140. This will include 1 coordinating sports bra or fitted tanks and shorts. Athletes will wear black tanks/shirts/sports bras and shorts until practice wear arrives.

  • You will be responsible for purchasing solid white cheer shoes (no running shoes) and white no-show socks for competitions.

  • Attendance is mandatory. We include this policy in our information packet to communicate what our expectations are when it comes to practices and competitions prior to signing up. The only excused absences from practice will be for school functions that result in a grade, family emergencies or illness. If your athlete is sick, they still need to come to practice (unless contagious). They will not be required to participate; however, they still need to be present. If an athlete incurs 6 unexcused absences, removal from the team will be discussed, or their role in the routine will be minimized. All competitions are mandatory. In the event that an athlete is sick the day of, they can wear a mask up until time to compete, compete without a mask, and then they are released to go home immediately after their performance.

  • Athletes will start practices the week of July 5th .We will be closed Monday, July 4th. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on the 1st day of their practice! Teams will start their fall schedule the week of Aug 15th. It is extremely important to notify us in advance of any conflicts you may have when filling out the registration form. The team can only be successful with everyone at practice. We do our best to create a schedule that works best for the team, but we will not be able to allow athletes to consistently be late or miss practice due to other activities. It is not uncommon for us to schedule extra practices within a couple of weeks prior to a competition.
